- 117 competidores de 27 universidades se darán cita este domingo en Miranda de Ebro
n el marco de las actividades organizadas por el 30 aniversario de su creación, la Universidad de Burgos recibirá a atletas de toda España en el primer Campeonato de España Universitario de Carreras por Montaña. La cita tendrá lugar este domingo 14 de abril en Miranda de Ebro y no solo es una competición deportiva, como ha asegurado Delfín Ortega Sánchez, de Responsabilidad Social, Cultura y Deporte, «también representa tres décadas de compromiso de la Universidad de Burgos con el deporte, entendido como medio específico para la promoción de la salud y del bienestar y los valores asociados al mismo».
Organizado junto con el Club Mirandés de Montaña y respaldado por la Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada, el campeonato reunirá a 117 participantes procedentes de 11 comunidades autónomas, «lo que refleja la diversidad y el espíritu de unidad que queremos fomentar a través de este campeonato» ha asegurado el vicerrector, que además agradeció el apoyo y colaboración al Ayuntamiento de Miranda de Ebro, y la Dirección General de Deportes de la Junta de Castilla y León.
En esta primera edición, participarán un total de 27 universidades y la UBU lo hará con dos corredores.
El recorrido, de 20,5 kilómetros – con 1.230 metros de desnivel positivo y 1.325 metros de desnivel negativo – comenzará a las 9.40 h en La Calera y discurrirá por la senda de Los Tejos en Miranda de Ebro, pasando por la Mina y la ermita de San Juan. Además, presenta un duro ascenso a la cruz de Motrico para luego adentrarse en la senda, continuar coronando Peñalrayo y descender hacia la meta.
La entrega de premios está prevista a las 14:15 h en el Parque Antonio Machado de Miranda de Ebro.
Según Pilar Domínguez, jefa del Servicio de Deportes de la Universidad de Burgos, la prueba tendrá un alto nivel competitivo y ha generado gran expectación. Además, coincide con la Copa de España de Carreras por Montaña.
Domínguez detalló los pormenores de la competición, que contará con clasificaciones individuales masculina y femenina, así como por equipos en ambas categorías, además de una clasificación mixta. En la clasificación por equipos competirán 7 equipos masculinos, 6 femeninos y 7 mixtos. Los participantes llevarán un chip de control y tendrán un tiempo límite de 3 horas y 30 minutos hasta el corte situado en el avituallamiento número cuatro.
Además, la responsable de Deportes de la UBU, mostró su confianza en la continuidad de este campeonato universitario, gracias al apoyo del Consejo Superior de Deportes.
